The best Xbox so far. The matte finish, price, 4GB internal is plenty for game saves and some add-ons. If you want more memory, just add 1-2 16GB USB flash sticks. I use USB drives for game saves and full game installs. This way I never have to worry about IF the system breaks on me. I'll always have my personal saves on the flash sticks. I never trust hard drives as they are more prone to fail over a flash stick. Thats why I didn't keep the 250GB version. Plus I don't do demos so I don't need that kind of space. Matte finish does not collect dust and hair like the gloss version does which drove me crazy as I did own the 250GB version for a short time until this version came out. VERY HAPPY with the arcade.

I hooked up my PS2 to my 18.5 inch lcd monitor using this XCM Mega Cool VGA box and wow what a sight to witness it was! I have the normal third party component av cables, but now I am planning to get the official sony component av cable to get even better picture quality. It shows picture without any lag. The text is way much clearer and sharper. This is the best VGA box you want for any console out there today in the market. I have seen other videos showing this box working with Wii, XBOX360, PS3 and they all were superb. But I never found a good video for PS2, still I risked buying it, and I am not regretting. It's worth every penny. But I had to shell out extra 32 dollars for the custom duty and octroi crap. If only play-asia had mentioned lower price on the package, I would have escaped paying that. But anyways, I am loving this thing and it's beautiful indeed!

I'm not entirely convinced the Dev Team met its New Year's Eve iPhone 3G unlock deadline but it's here now...

Dubbed 'yellowsn0w' (don't eat it) the application version is 0.9.1 meaning the elite hacking group hasn't quite had the faith to pull it out of beta at this stage still early reports are it does what it says on the tin.

For the uninitiated that means yellowsn0w is the first software unlock to open up the iPhone 3G handset for use with any network and will work with the latest 2.2 firmware - in fact, it only works with this edition as it requires the latest 02.28.00 baseband to operate.

Though completely removable through Cydia, the command line and iTunes be warned at this stage there are no niceties, such as a GUI, so newbies might like to steer clear for now. The Dev Team also issues the following warning:

"The iPhone 3G is used all over the world with all sorts of SIM cards, and we almost certainly will see untested and unexpected situations. If the soft unlock doesn't work for you on day 1 (literally day 1, of 2009!) then please don't panic or be impatient. This is new territory for everyone, so enjoy the ride as much as you can :)"

With seemingly everyone I know being bought an iPhone 3G for Christmas (apart from me *sniff* pick pocket scumbags *sniff*) yellowsn0w should go down a bomb. As ever let us know your experiences...

Update: Oh dear, we're hearing more people than not are finding snowsn0w to be coming up short - perhaps the time isn't yet right for consumption (mother was right!).
